across the board

Explanation: What is an idiom?

for all without exception.

-Hey! Guess who just got a pay raise!

-Yes, I know! We all did! Dan decided to increase the salaries across the board, so we're all celebrating tonight! Do you want to come?

-Sure, I'll be the first one there!

-That's the spirit!

This idiom comes from horse-racing, when bookmakers used to mark up the odds on large boards. An "across the board" bet was one in which people would set equal bets on the same horse to win.
